Wood is a natural material and needs a little care to last for years.

Hand wash only in warm soapy water, then towel dry and stand it up to air-dry fully.

Never soak it and never put it in the dishwasher — prolonged water and dishwasher heat make timber swell, warp, crack, and split at the glued joints.

Wipe up spills promptly; don’t leave it lying wet on the bench.

Oil it now and then with a food-safe board or mineral oil to feed the timber and keep it water-resistant.
